Facilities Manager

 

Overall Purpose of the Position

To carry out general maintenance works on the Bank’s premises and equipment to ensure the safe working environment in the Bank. The Tradesman is to also required to provide logistical support as and when necessary in a diligent and safe manner. Ready to work on a six-day shift including Saturdays as and when necessary.

 

 Operational Responsibilities

  • To attend to the general maintenance duties as instructed by the Facilities Manager/Team Lead including moving of furniture, maintenance on doors and locks, painting, general plumbing works, basic carpentry and welding, and equipment repairs. Simple electrical projects, install/repair basic wiring, switches, fixtures and other electrical mechanisms, and repairs of building structures and their mechanical, electrical or sanitary systems.
  • To ensure that all equipment used for the carrying out of his duties such as hand tools are properly maintained at all times and that all work performed is carried out in a safe manner both for himself as well as for the Bank’s staff where works, of whatever nature, are carried out.
  • To supervise/assist outside contractors on the Bank’s premises and equipment repairs or during the installation of fixtures/equipment at the Bank’s sites.
  • To manage and be accountable for a petty cash float as designated and established by the Facilities Manager/Team Lead. The petty cash float is to be reconciled with the Facilities Manager/Team Lead on a periodic basis.
  • To assist in any emergency that might arise, even when this occurs after office hours as instructed by the Facilities Manager/Team Lead.
  • To carry out other miscellaneous duties as may be instructed by the Facilities Manager/Team Lead.

 

General Responsibilities

  • To submit any reports and/or participate in any projects and activities as may be directed from time to time and to attend training as requested by the Bank.
  • To ensure compliance with Bank’s policies, guidelines and underlying procedures at all times.
  • To ensure a high quality/standard of work and service throughout, taking all necessary actions and safeguards to work within the Health and Safety guidelines.
  • To perform standard office procedures including answering phone calls, ordering supplies and filing.
  • To perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

 

 Qualifications, Skills & Competencies  

Mandatory

  • Have good verbal and written communication skills and computer literate.

  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting & interpersonal skills.

  Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years hands on post-qualification experience in a technical or building and facilities management environment is ideally required.
  • Building Services engineering experience and competent in mechanical and electrical issues design, diagnosis and resolution.

Qualification

  • Higher Diploma at NVQ Level 4 or higher in either of Building Studies / Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of building, health and safety, services and other related legislation.
  • Wireman’s Licence A.

 Desirable 

Skill

  • Reducing carbon footprint of Facilities to meet government and environmental standards.

Experience

  • Qualification in HVAC Systems.

Qualification

  • Certificate in Sustainable development Wireman’s Licence B
